Thanks for chasing this down.  I've spent today hacking to make this
sort of thing easier to test, so you can do things like:

./linaro-hwpack-create ../linaro-omap3 10 --local-deb ~/Downloads/u-boot-linaro-omap3-beagle_2010.09~rc1.1-0ubuntu3_armel.deb

and override the version of u-boot that will be included in the pack.
But I see that people figured out what was wrong in the bug anyway :-)
