So as to avoid the (inevitable) conflicts, may I propose that I first
apply Yong's patch sent last week to add inotify support. It is not a
very invasive patch.

Yong, for the mem allocation work, perhaps it is best if we wait for
Daniel to send his latest series and work on top of that.
