I would think so.  And if this is really something people need then this 
could be revisited in the future.  Remember that you gain no points by 
trying to submit everything on a zero-day.

By the way, the merge window may be opened at any moment given latest 
comments from Linus.  If you have some patches that can be merged during
this mergewindow I'd suggest posting them soon.
