Hi Vishal ,

Thanks very much for your help. Now i have build the android source successfully.And i have some questions about the arm-eabi- and arm-linux-androideabi- toolchain, are they different?
Under what circumstances should use the corresponding tool chain?

hi Vishal and Milosz,
Thanks for your kind help. I've solved this problem. My Ubuntu is fresh installed and then run the script to initialize the building environment. I just went through and followed the instruction from source.android.com and rebuild the environment, and thus installed some new packages, then the tarballs was built successfully. I'm not sure which package is the root cause, anyway it works now.
Regards,
Frank

Don't set the toolchain here to hardfloat toolchain :
"TARGET_TOOLS_PREFIX=/work/arndale-octa-linaro/gcc-linaro-arm-linux-gnueabihf-4.8-2014.02_linux/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf-"

Please look at it below:
TARGET_TOOLS_PREFIX=prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm/arm-linux-androideabi-4.8-linaro/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-
