Hi Alexander,

SoC vendors use lot of different quirks for codec configuration (bitrate, number of channels, etc...).
But while only TI code is public (ST-E and FreeScale aren't) it is impossible for me to give/write more details about this.
I hope that inside Khronos (covered by NDA) the members could discust of this topic.

  + not sure, but maybe your findings could be summarized in a table/matrix that is visualiy easier to digest?
 + you mention that quirks are used a lot for different SoCs; for me this seems to indicate that is something that should get discussed/addressed eventually. Maybe giving overview of the quirks used and the why would help such discussion?
 + one review round by a native speaker to check language, grammar, etc. would be good
