If I remember correctly omap boards use /dev/omapfb
And it's configured in /etc/X11/xorg.conf in the filesystem should have
       Driver          "fbdev"

thanks for the reply, Will try that later today However FYI ... If I choose anything else other than omapfb.mode=tv ( For eg dvi or lcd ), /dev/fb0 , /dev/fb1 will come back, They disappear only when I use omapfb.mode=tv, Not sure it really matters but thought should let you know.
