Go into the manifest and remove the commit id from powertop line, then repo sync again. You should be good to go. you can access the manifest at .repo/manifest.git.

This is one a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 in a VM after having installed the packages listed with apt. Is their something wrong with the manifest for 12.08 or is the powertop-2.0 repo corrupt?
