We're having from time to time issues with initializing builds slaves due to issue with Ubuntu EC2 package mirror problems. Ubuntu EC2 team is aware of the problem and invites us to participate in testing a new mirror which should solve these issues. More details are in:

I guess it's a good move to help test this new mirror, so I'd like to see if anyone has big concerns with that, and otherwise I'll add it to my queue. The change should be transparent to Android Build users, and if we see any issues (like higher error rate than usual), we can easily revert.

Great; these are the S3 mirrors I mentioned on IRC; I've just tried these on an EC2 vm and it worked fine (s/ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ec2.archive.ubuntu.com.s3.amazonaws.com/)
Ultimately I guess it will be transparent as they will just point the ubuntu.com DNS to it, but it's manual during testing.

So this was tested yesterday and deployed today. So far it seems to be all smooth (I actually would like to collect stats on slave init time "before" and "after"). If you see any issues with slave startup/pileup/builds hanging in the queue, let know me, Danilo, or Loic.
