Botao, Amit: Here are the builds we'll be looking at for the 12.07 android release. Please boot test them as soon as possible, and respond with the results. Once they are good, David will tag and rebuild them in the -release branch, and respond with the new URLs. We'll then need to pick up the new builds from those URLs and do the rest of the testing on them. Please take this opportunity to also double-check the gcc version that was used to build the kernel and make sure it's the 12.07 release of gcc.
Panda: https://android-build.linaro.org/builds/~linaro-android/panda-ics-gcc47-tilt... - Boot test on both 4430 and 4460 Snowball: https://android-build.linaro.org/builds/~linaro-android/snowball-ics-gcc46-i... - Please check glmark2, it failed in the lava tests, but looks like it was due to a networking glitch with linaro-android-test not detecting the network in time. If this looks bad in the boot test, revert to build 369 and boot test it. Origen: https://android-build.linaro.org/builds/~linaro-android/origen-ics-gcc47-sam... - Please check glmark2 on this one too. If this one doesn't look good, revert to build 88 Vexpress-a9: https://android-build.linaro.org/builds/~linaro-android/vexpress-ics-gcc47-a...
Ryan/Tixy are testing the vexpress-tc2 release. Could one of you please respond with the build URL? I couldn't seem to locate it. Also, after boot testing, Zach may want it to be rebuilt in a -release branch. I'll defer to him on that.

Yeah, Fabo handles that. We should definitely include it in the release tag and then regress all the -release trees
Thanks, Paul Larson
A little heads up: There (at least very likely) will be a new tree that should be released (no rc just yet), based on JellyBean. Currently working out the last couple of showstoppers.

Hi, it will be a Panda JB build, not sure whether it will be blob- or open- yet (depends on whether or not we can make ICS blobs work with JB). We might also have a GNexus JB build, but I'm not sure whether or not we can/want to release that.

We'll then need to pick up the new builds from those URLs and do the rest of the testing on them. Please take this opportunity to also double-check the gcc version that was used to build the kernel and make sure it's the 12.07 release of gcc.

Ryan/Tixy are testing the vexpress-tc2 release. Could one of you please respond with the build URL? I couldn't seem to locate it. Also, after boot testing, Zach may want it to be rebuilt in a -release branch. I'll defer to him on that.

This email should include if these were boot tested and by who. Would you add that info David?

Details? Will you be covering the testing of this image Bero?
Hi, it will be a Panda JB build, not sure whether it will be blob- or open- yet (depends on whether or not we can make ICS blobs work with JB). We might also have a GNexus JB build, but I'm not sure whether or not we can/want to release that.
I can take care of testing, but obviously wouldn't mind QA taking care of it.
Bero, since this is happening out of band a little bit, lets test it in the Android team the we'll send a note when we do the final release. If everything goes good we'll send it over to QA. Sound good?

To (hopefully) avoid confusion, can we make sure these names don't get used in any web pages or folder/file/image-names created for the release?
If that is already understood, then fine, but I thought I would chime in before it was too late. :-)
If people haven't already considered this, then my take on naming would be...
What's referred to above as "vexpress-a9", should be just "vexpress" - as it has been for the past several months - this build works on A9, A5, A15 (TC1), and A15/A7 (TC2).
And the above "vexpress-alt", should be "vexpress-tc2", as it is tuned for TC2, with big.LITTLE scheduling enabled and some power management features only available on TC2.
(In future months we may be able to go back to a single release image)
Thanks

Jon,
Is it okay if we go with what we've been doing and take an action to shift the names at the start of the next cycle (right after this release)?
Thanks

I was thinking more of the files, URLs, and web pages under http://releases.linaro.org/ which are yet to be created.
I wasn't trying to suggest that we rename build names used at https://android-build.linaro.org/, or manifest names, or git repo names. :-)
I wanted to make sure, for example, that the release page for "Versatile Express TC2" was at: http://releases.linaro.org/12.07/android/vexpress-tc2/ and not http://releases.linaro.org/12.07/android/vexpress-alt/
And if that page links to the build vexpress-ics-gcc47-armlt-staging-alt-open, I can't see anything wrong with that.

Ah gotcha. Okay that's all in David's wheelhouse. Lets do this, after David gets the releases cut he'll send a list and we'll put all the names together so everyone knows what to do. Sound good?

Sure. Though we could let David, Anmar and the ARM PMs sort it out amongst themselves, I personally don't care if the TC2 release gets called Cyril :-)
