Problem building openjdk-8 (1609)

New to openjdk, apologies if this is obvious. I am trying to build the above as downloaded in source form from http://openjdk.linaro.org/ for Linux aarch64 as part of a Yocto distribution i.e. "bitbake -v openjdk-8 -c compile" and am getting the compile error shown below, I'm guessing that this is something to do with a Makefile somewhere (not sure) as -Wl appears to be passed to the compiler without the usual , and option. OpenJDK-8: Crypto performance is very slow on ARM compared to OpenJDK-7

Hi All, I have ported openjdk-8-72b05(from Yocto) for both armv7 and aarch64 architectures. I am sharing sample code via link, which I have run to see the crypto performance and found it is very slow compared to OpenJDK-7. Hi, The Linaro OpenJDK 1601 Engineering Builds for JDK 7,8, 8u and 9 are available at http://openjdk.linaro.org/relhome.htm The following is a list of the repos used to build each version JDK 7 - http://icedtea.classpath.org/hg/icedtea7-forest JDK 8 - http://hg.openjdk.java.net/aarch64-port/jdk8 JDK 8u - http://hg.openjdk.java.net/aarch64-port/jdk8u JDK 9 - http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk9/hs-comp Starting with 16-02 we will be making a monthly build of JDK 8u which will in time replace the JDK 8 build. For the moment we will continue to build both JDK 8 and JDK 8u. The current build of JDK 8u is based on jdk8u72-b16. The JDK 8 and JDK 8u builds support two experimental options. -XX: +UseLSE which tells the JVM to use the LSE instructions in ARMv8.1 and -XX:+UseSIMDForMemoryOps.
