Hi,
I've finished moving mounting to a separate init.partitions.rc that
can differ on a per-board basis - and also added the 2 most common
variants to device/linaro/common.
http://review.android.git.linaro.org/#change,1656http://review.android.git.linaro.org/#change,1657http://review.android.git.linaro.org/#change,1660http://review.android.git.linaro.org/#change,1665http://review.android.git.linaro.org/#change,1661
On iMX6, my first impression was that it doesn't work - but after some
reboots without changes, it did start working and everything is
looking ok. Both iMX53 and iMX6 have a track record of sometimes
failing to boot for no apparent reason - so it's likely I was running
into an unusually high number of those w/ the initial tests, or
somehow the timing differences by init.partitions.rc make the problem
worse.
Please do check if it causes problems on your board before approving -
if this introduces a "doesn't boot" bug, I'd much rather live with the
sed hackery we have now...

Hi,
i am using linaro android release 11.12 on Pandaboard.
I only added some printk statements in kernel
and found that the mouse/keyboard is not consistently working.
sometimes the mouse cannot be detected but sometimes it is OK,
depending on each compilation with my printk changes.
has anyone seen this similar unstable mouse/keyboard issue?
and is there any mouse/keyboard related fix in the newer release?
where could I find more info about what are changes in the new release?
Thanks!
Added the list.
We have a manual test for this, that should be automatable. See:
https://wiki.linaro.org/Platform/QA/TestCases/Android
Actually any of those that you can automate would be good.

The google supplied SIP Demo
(http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/SipDemo/index.html)
fails with "can't register with asterisk" while it works fine on a
Motorola Zoom. A hand coded SIP application that runs fine with the
Motorola Zoom, the Galaxy Nexus, and the Motorola Android gets at least
a 20% packet loss with android on the pandaboard (this could be either
an ethernet connection problem - not likely, a sound driver problem -
not likely, or a codec problem).
The real problem is how does a problem like this supposed to be
reported/addressed?
Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, so I have tried both 12.02 for Android and 12.02 for Ubuntu
Desktop both for the Origen board.
I got the Android image from here:
http://releases.linaro.org/12.02/android/leb-origen/origen-ics-gcc46-sam
sunglt-stable-blob.img.gz and the Ubuntu from here:
http://releases.linaro.org/12.02/oneiric/ubuntu-desktop/origen-ubuntu-de
sktop.img.gz.
My commands to make the Ubuntu image were:
SDCARD=/dev/sdb
IMGFILE=origen-ubuntu-desktop.image
gunzip ${IMGFILE}.gz
dd bs=64k if=${IMGFILE} of=${SDCARD}
I then powered up the Origen board and again, got no output on the LCD
and only a small amount of boot information in terminal before the SD
card power LED (LED4) went off.

For the Android image, I used the following commands:

gunzip ${IMGFILE}.gz
dd bs=64k if=${IMGFILE} of=${SDCARD}
Exactly the same thing happened as I previously mentioned, got a bunch
of boot text then LED4 goes off and nothing else happens.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Hi, could you paste your command to flash SD card here?
I have just purchased an Origen Board - Full Package. I flashed the SD
card with igen-ics-gcc46-samsunglt-stable-blob.img and placed it into
the SD card slot. I flicked the power switch and pressed SWITCH then
POWER and saw the board booting in terminal. However, after a short
period of time LED4 turns off and I do not see the LCD light or show the
Android screen. The output in terminal is given below. Is my board
faulty or have I not flashed the correct image to the SD card ?

Hi
I've posted this patch to AOSP:
https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/34240/
Could you please review it and tell, what you think about it? As far
as I know you have boards with CAN interface like Freescale ones. How
do you test CAN interface on them?
I've started a discussion on socketcan mailing list:
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.can/852. It turns out to be some
projects suitable for Android. I'm evaluating them and will report my
results. But I would really like to see my patch commited to AOSP or
alternative version, that fixes the problem without diverging from
main line iproute2 code too much.
Regards,
Yegor
Solved !
Rather embarrassingly, the problem was down to my power supply.
When the board booted and tried to turn on the LCD, my power supply was
incapable of supplying the current to do so.
