Hi All,
As this is the final week of GSOC, so first I would like to say thanks to my mentors (Grant & Rob) and everyone else who was involved in selecting me. It was a wonderful experience for me, as it provided me learning and also some insight into Linux kernel, that is what I was looking for since a long time. Still, learning isn't over and will never end. This was my first and last chance to participate in GSOC, and I know how I managed to do it, so I'm going to miss each and every moment :)
Tasks submitted: - [PATCH v3] Adding selftest testdata dynamically into live tree - accepted, in 3.16 kernel - [PATCH] Fixing OF Selftest build error - accepted, in 3.16 kernel - [PATCH v2] Enabling OF selftest to run without machine's devicetree - accepted, will be in mainline soon, with a couple of fixup patches - [PATCH] Removes OF_SELFTEST dependency on OF_DYNAMIC config symbol - not accepted, needs to be fixed; before that it requires some discussion with Grant. - OF Selftests documentation - The documentation that describes the technical details of the work done, and also details of the testcases executed in OF selftests - version1 has been reviewed, updated according to the review; now have submitted version2 for review.
Apart from the above there was a lot of learning of tools like Qemu, gdb, ftrace; mainly open source development process and testing kernel for different architectures.
Varad,
It was great reading your work updates, when I used to forget submitting my update, your mail used to remind me. So, thanks to you too :)
Definitely, the work doesn't ends here, so I'll keep working of the tasks left, until any new is provided.
Please let me know if I'm missing something.

Hi Grant,
You're right, I haven't. Considering the fact that changes were minimal, so I planned to fix it in the third patch that was meant to attach the device tree if no live tree is present. So, have been waiting for your review on the same.
I reviewed the patch this morning. You should have my comments and the fixups I've done. You can roll the fixups into your patch before you repost.
Please let me know if you need a separate patch for the same.
A separate patch would be good. It is good practice for each patch to do exactly one thing. I would only put them into a single patch if the two issues were tightly intertwined.
