Hi Steve,
I do have a separate tool from WA for just getting fps/Jank info from surfaceflinger. As Booby stated it does track multiple contexts (I keep meaning to re-code and push into WAŠhonest). It¹s a python script (attached) which works on a single device connection over ADB and outputs some raw and processed data csv files.
Usage is very simple and documented(ish) inside the script.

Ian may also be able to comment (though I think he's travelling this week). He has some tech that works in a similar way.
Currently, all methods use dumpsys SurfaceFlinger information. This was tested through Android-L - not sure anyone's used it with Android-M.
The instrument in WA assumes a single 'Window' for which to track FPS / Jank. IIRC, Ian has some mods that look over multiple windows.

Hi Steve
We do use it in ARM but it comes with caveats. The best person to ask about it Sergei Trofimov, (cced) who wrote it, but he is away until next Monday, so perhaps ping him again then.
Cheers

I see there is a jank measurement capability in workload automation:

Has anyone used this? Limitations, prerequisites etc? I'd like to use this to measure janks during scrolls. I'll give it a shot but I've never used WA before so I thought I'd check first if anyone had comments/experiences to share.
