Interesting, I wonder if any system manages to have ARM_AMBA without being ARM? This looks like an upstream cleanup to only rely on ARM_AMBA would be the correct option here.

May not be right; I see the following reason for the dependency
commit 41e9f3f71bc7a5d41a2b925cfdc0dc22a77f7d8c Author: Alessandro Rubini rubini@gnudd.com Date: Wed Feb 20 23:41:04 2013 +0100
watchdog: sp805_wdt depends on ARM
The SP805 driver is only used by the Spear machines, and uses writel_relaxed, which is not available on all architectures.
The dependency from CONFIG_ARM avoids compilation problems under randomconfig when CONFIG_ARM_AMBA is enabled for x86 builds.

Does this mean it is not actually implemented in the model so we do not need this driver?

I still can not understand the situation here, it said that " only used by the Spear machines", does that means we don't need this patch?

Why not make CONFIG_ARM_AMBA depends on ARM or ARM64 only?
Thanks Hanjun

The " only used by the Spear machines" appears to be nonsense if the FDT for aarch64 models is to be beleived.
