[PATCH V2 0/9] cpufreq: dt: Don't create platform-device from platform code

Hi Rafael, This migrates rest of the platforms to use cpufreq-dt-platdev.c. There are few exceptions though: - mvebu: it uses platform data and its problem will be solved in a separate series. - highbank, s5pv210, sti, tegra124: these platforms already have cpufreq drivers in drivers/cpufreq/, which does some other stuff and finally create the device. There are sequencing issues, and so they will be left as it is. V1->V2: - Acks from Arnd for all the patches and from few other maintainers - Finley sent his patch for rockchip 2 minutes before I sent mine :), and so I picked his patch instead of mine. - First patch is new based on suggestions from Geert. - Arnd suggested to get rid of a init routine in imx patch, that's done as well. [PATCH v4] ARM64: ACPI: Update documentation for latest specification version

The ACPI 6.1 specification was recently released at the end of January 2016, but the arm64 kernel documentation for the use of ACPI was written for the 5.1 version of the spec. There were significant additions to the spec that had not yet been mentioned -- for example, the 6.0 mechanisms added to make it easier to define processors and low power idle states, as well as the 6.1 addition allowing regular interrupts (not just from GPIO) be used to signal ACPI general purpose events. This patch reflects going back through and examining the specs in detail and updating content appropriately. Whilst there, a few odds and ends of typos were caught as well. This brings the documentation up to date with ACPI 6.1 for arm64. Changes for v4: -- Clarify that IORT can sometimes be optional (Jon Masters). -- Remove "Use as needed" descriptions of ACPI objects; they provide no substantive information and doing so simplifies maintenance of this document over time. These have been replaced with a simpler notice that states that unless otherwise noted, do what the APCI specification says is needed. -- Corrected the _OSI object usage recommendation; it described kernel behavior that does not exist (Al Stone). linux-next: build failure after merge of the net-next tree

Hi all, [A report from Mark's buildbot] After merging the net-next tree, today's linux-next build (arm allmodconfig) failed like thisi (this has actually been failing for a few days, now): ERROR: "__bad_udelay" [drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ixgbe/ixgbe.ko] undefined! Caused by commit 49425dfc7451 ("ixgbe: Add support for x550em_a 10G MAC type") arm only allows udelay()s up to 2 milliseconds. This commit adds a 5 ms udelay in ixgbe_acquire_swfw_sync_x550em_a() in drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ixgbe/ixgbe_x550.c. -- Cheers, Stephen Rothwell

[PATCH 0/8] cpufreq: dt: Don't create platform-device from platform code

Hi, This migrates rest of the platforms to use cpufreq-dt-platdev.c. There are few exceptions though: - mvebu: it uses platform data and its problem will be solved in a separate series. - highbank, s5pv210, sti, tegra124: these platforms already have cpufreq drivers in drivers/cpufreq/, which does some other stuff and finally create the device. There are sequencing issues, and so they will be left as it is.
