Are you doing this one imx family at a time? I started looking at this for OMAP and realized I will need all of omap2/3/4/5 converted at once, if I don;t have to break the multi omap2+ single build.
We share the same problem, and we have to convert imx3/5/6 over at once to maintain imx_v6_v7 single build. It seems Sascha/Richard are taking care of imx3 and imx5, so I only need to work on imx6. You probably need to pull more people into the task too :)
