This behavior regressed in the REQ_OP_WRITE_ZEROES refactor near 45c21793 drbd: implement REQ_OP_WRITE_ZEROES 0dbed96 drbd: make intelligent use of blkdev_issue_zeroout which caused dm-thin backed DRBD volumes to zero blocks and run out of space instead of passing discard to the backing device as defined by the discard_zeroes_if_aligned option. A helper function could reduce code duplication. [Linux-stable-mirror] [PATCH v2] usb: dwc3: core: Fix ULPI PHYs and prevent phy_get/ulpi_init during suspend/resume

In order for ULPI PHYs to work, dwc3_phy_setup() and dwc3_ulpi_init() must be doene before dwc3_core_get_phy(). commit 541768b08a40 ("usb: dwc3: core: Call dwc3_core_get_phy() before initializing phys") broke this. The other issue is that dwc3_core_get_phy() and dwc3_ulpi_init() should be called only once during the life cycle of the driver. However, as dwc3_core_init() is called during system suspend/resume it will result in multiple calls to dwc3_core_get_phy() and dwc3_ulpi_init() which is wrong. Fix this by moving dwc3_ulpi_init() out of dwc3_phy_setup() into dwc3_core_ulpi_init(). Use a flag 'ulpi_ready' to ensure that dwc3_core_ulpi_init() is called only once from dwc3_core_init(). Use another flag 'phys_ready' to call dwc3_core_get_phy() only once from dwc3_core_init(). Fix child-node lookup during probe, which ended up searching the whole device tree depth-first starting at the parent rather than just matching on its children. To make things worse, the parent pmc node could end up being prematurely freed as of_find_node_by_name() drops a reference to its first argument. In commit bc73905abf770192 ("[SCSI] lpfc 8.3.16: SLI Additions, updates, and code cleanup"), lpfc_memcpy_to_slim() have switched memcpy_toio() to __write32_copy() in order to prevent unaligned 64 bit copy. Recently, we found that lpfc_memcpy_from_slim() have similar issues, so let it switch memcpy_fromio() to __read32_copy(). When virtio-rpmsg device is provided via virtio-mmio transport, the dma_alloc_coherent() (called by rpmsg_probe()) fails on ARM/ARM64 systems because "vdev->dev.parent->parent" device is used as parameter to dma_alloc_coherent(). The "vdev->dev.parent->parent" device represents underlying remoteproc platform device when virtio-rpmsg device is provided via virtio-remoteproc transport. When virtio-rpmsg device is provided via virtio-mmio transport, the "vdev->dev.parent->parent" device represents the parent device of virtio-mmio platform device and dma_alloc_coherent() fails for this device because generally there is no corresponding platform device and dma_ops are not setup for "vdev->dev.parent->parent". This patch fixes dma_alloc_coherent() usage in rpmsg_probe() by trying dma_alloc_coherent() with "vdev->dev.parent" device when it fails with "vdev->dev.parent->parent" device. [Linux-stable-mirror] [PATCH] Bluetooth: btusb: Restore QCA Rome suspend/resume fix with a "rewritten" version

Commit 7d06d5895c15 ("Revert "Bluetooth: btusb: fix QCA...suspend/resume"") removed the setting of the BTUSB_RESET_RESUME quirk for QCA Rome devices, instead favoring adding USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME quirks in usb/core/quirks.c. This was done because the DIY BTUSB_RESET_RESUME reset-resume handling has several issues (see the original commit message). An added advantage of moving over to the USB-core reset-resume handling is that it also disables autosuspend for these devices, which is similarly broken on these. But there are 2 issues with this approach: 1) It leaves the broken DIY BTUSB_RESET_RESUME code in place for Realtek devices. 2) Sofar only 2 of the 10 QCA devices known to the btusb code have been added to usb/core/quirks.c and if we fix the Realtek case the same way we need to add an additional 14 entries. So in essence we need to duplicate a large part of the usb_device_id table in btusb.c in usb/core/quirks.c and manually keep them in sync. This commit instead restores setting a reset-resume quirk for QCA devices in the btusb.c code, avoiding the duplicate usb_device_id table problem. This commit avoids the problems with the original DIY BTUSB_RESET_RESUME code by simply setting the USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME quirk directly on the usb_device. This commit also moves the BTUSB_REALTEK case over to directly setting the USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME on the usb_device and removes the now unused BTUSB_RESET_RESUME code. Therefore, ensure that a) enough data has been written to the buffer, so that the commandSize field is present and b) the commandSize field does not announce more data than has been written to the buffer.
