scsi_device_quiesce() uses synchronize_rcu() to guarantee that the
effect of blk_set_preempt_only() will be visible for percpu_ref_tryget()
calls that occur after the queue unfreeze by using the approach
explained in https://lwn.net/Articles/573497/. The rcu read lock and
unlock calls in blk_queue_enter() form a pair with the synchronize_rcu()
call in scsi_device_quiesce(). Both scsi_device_quiesce() and
blk_queue_enter() must either use regular RCU or RCU-sched.
Since neither the RCU-protected code in blk_queue_enter() nor
blk_queue_usage_counter_release() sleeps, regular RCU protection
is sufficient. Note: scsi_device_quiesce() does not have to be
modified since it already uses synchronize_rcu().

Subject: staging: comedi: ni_mio_common: ack ai fifo error interrupts.
Ack ai fifo error interrupts in interrupt handler to clear interrupt
after fifo overflow. It should prevent lock-ups after the ai fifo
overflows.

Michal Kalderon has found some corner cases around device unload
with active NFS mounts that I didn't have the imagination to test
when xprtrdma device removal was added last year.
- The ULP device removal handler is responsible for deallocating
the PD. That wasn't clear to me initially, and my own testing
suggested it was not necessary, but that is incorrect.
- The transport destruction path can no longer assume that there
is a valid ID.
- When destroying a transport, ensure that ib_free_cq() is not
invoked on a CQ that was already released.

Hi!
Someone on Twitter
(https://twitter.com/vnik5287/status/974277953394651137) is pointing
out that the BPF fix commit 95a762e2c8c942780948091f8f2a4f32fce1ac6f
("bpf: fix incorrect sign extension in check_alu_op()") needs to be
applied all the way back to 4.4, and probably also 4.1; my "Fixes:"
tag on that commit is incorrect. I assumed that without map access,
math correctness issues don't matter, but actually, this one does
matter because check_cond_jmp_op() will omit verification for branches
that appear to be unreachable (comparison of CONST_IMM register and a
constant value). :/
FWIW, I checked by hand what the binary blob of BPF code in the linked
PoC does, and it's basically this (with some error checking and other
minor stuff omitted):
// trick the verifier into not checking any of the code below
r9 = (u32)-1
if (r9 == (s32)-1) exit 0
// read some configuration
r6 = *map_lookup_elem(MAP_FD, &0) // operation selector
r7 = *map_lookup_elem(MAP_FD, &1) // pointer to access
r8 = *map_lookup_elem(MAP_FD, &2) // value to write
r2 = map_lookup_elem(MAP_FD, &2)
if r6 == 0: // operation: read
r3 = *r7
*r2 = r3
exit
if r6 == 1: // operation: get frame pointer
*r2 = fp
exit
*r7 = r8 // operation: write
exit
The author of the tweet does point out that this exploit is mitigated
by sanitize_dead_code() (introduced in "bpf: fix branch pruning logic"
and backported all the way), but 95a762e2c8c9 should still be applied.

commit b16ea8b9492e99e03b1269fe93ebdbf8e4eabf8a upstream.
The FIFO/Queue type values are incorrect. Correct them according to
DWC_usb3 programming guide section 1.2.27 (or DWC_usb31 section 1.2.25).
Additionally, this patch includes ProtocolStatusQ and AuxEventQ types.

Subject: scsi: qla2xxx: Fix extraneous ref on sp's after adapter break
From: Bill Kuzeja <William.Kuzeja(a)stratus.com>
commit 4cd3b6ebff8510b2139d64024411207090cfe0a9 upstream.
Hung task timeouts can result if a qlogic board breaks unexpectedly
while running I/O. These tasks become hung because command srb reference
counts are not going to zero, hence the affected srbs and commands do
not get freed. This fix accounts for this extra reference in the srbs in
the case of a board failure.

From: Srinath Mannam <srinath.mannam(a)broadcom.com>
commit c8e4e5bdb62a5ac6f860ebcaaf7b467b62f453f1 upstream.
Corrected the register to check the 64-bit pointer
capability state. 64-bit pointer implementation capability
was checking in wrong register, which causes the BDC
enumeration failure in 64-bit memory address.
