[PATCH v4 4/6] misc: pci_endpoint_test: Fix irq_type to convey the correct type

There are two variables that indicate the interrupt type to be used in the next test execution, "irq_type" as global and test->irq_type. The global is referenced from pci_endpoint_test_get_irq() to preserve the current type for ioctl(PCITEST_GET_IRQTYPE). The type set in this function isn't reflected in the global "irq_type", so ioctl(PCITEST_GET_IRQTYPE) returns the previous type. [PATCH 5.4,4.10 1/2] perf cs-etm: Add missing variable in cs_etm__process_queues()

Commit 5afd032961e8 "perf cs-etm: Don't flush when packet_queue fills up" uses i as a loop counter in cs_etm__process_queues(). It was backported to the 5.4 and 5.10 stable branches, but the i variable doesn't exist there as it was only added in 5.15. Declare i with the expected type. [PATCH] drm/amd/display: avoid NPD when ASIC does not support DMUB

ctx->dmub_srv will de NULL if the ASIC does not support DMUB, which is tested in dm_dmub_sw_init. However, it will be dereferenced in dmub_hw_lock_mgr_cmd if should_use_dmub_lock returns true. [PATCH 1/1] PCI/bwctrl: Disable PCIe BW controller during reset

PCIe BW controller enables BW notifications for Downstream Ports by setting Link Bandwidth Management Interrupt Enable (LBMIE) and Link Autonomous Bandwidth Interrupt Enable (LABIE) (PCIe Spec. r6.2 sec. 7.5.3.7). It was discovered that performing a reset can lead to the device underneath the Downstream Port becoming unavailable if BW notifications are left enabled throughout the reset sequence (at least LBMIE was found to cause an issue). While the PCIe Specifications do not indicate BW notifications could not be kept enabled during resets, the PCIe Link state during an intentional reset is not of large interest. Thus, disable BW controller for the bridge while reset is performed and re-enable it after the reset has completed to workaround the problems some devices encounter if BW notifications are left on throughout the reset sequence. [PATCH] s390/vfio-ap: lock mdev object when handling mdev remove request

The vfio_ap_mdev_request function in drivers/s390/crypto/vfio_ap_ops.c accesses fields of an ap_matrix_mdev object without ensuring that the object is accessed by only one thread at a time. This patch adds the lock necessary to secure access to the ap_matrix_mdev object. [PATCH v5 01/16] x86/stackprotector: Work around strict Clang TLS symbol requirements

From: Ard Biesheuvel <ardb(a)kernel.org> GCC and Clang both implement stack protector support based on Thread Local Storage (TLS) variables, and this is used in the kernel to implement per-task stack cookies, by copying a task's stack cookie into a per-CPU variable every time it is scheduled in. Both now also implement -mstack-protector-guard-symbol=, which permits the TLS variable to be specified directly. This is useful because it will allow us to move away from using a fixed offset of 40 bytes into the per-CPU area on x86_64, which requires a lot of special handling in the per-CPU code and the runtime relocation code. However, while GCC is rather lax in its implementation of this command line option, Clang actually requires that the provided symbol name refers to a TLS variable (i.e., one declared with __thread), although it also permits the variable to be undeclared entirely, in which case it will use an implicit declaration of the right type. The upshot of this is that Clang will emit the correct references to the stack cookie variable in most cases, e.g., 10d: 64 a1 00 00 00 00 mov %fs:0x0,%eax 10f: R_386_32 __stack_chk_guard However, if a non-TLS definition of the symbol in question is visible in the same compilation unit (which amounts to the whole of vmlinux if LTO is enabled), it will drop the per-CPU prefix and emit a load from a bogus address. Work around this by using a symbol name that never occurs in C code, and emit it as an alias in the linker script.
