There are two fixes on the list: [1] and [2]. Perhaps one of those resolves this?
I applied patch [2] ontop of next-20240506 was helpful and the e850-96 board booted.
So the problem here was that there was an error and when it tried to print the error message but printing it completely crashed the system.
Patch 2 just the error. Russell King is going to re-write the patch. He hadn't yet in today's linux-next. But when he does, then let's see what the error message is and we'll have to make some more fixes based on that.
