If push really came to shove, and the lava TC2 went down, I suppose we could go back to the original plan of having Naresh and Vishal time-sharing on one hack box, but that will take a little extra work to roll out - not much because we did most of the work before going over to the "two box" system.

Ideally we will get a replacement system from ARM but that might take a little bit of time. Then we can replace the LAVA unit in the lab. Mathieu's work is under the gun at the moment and needs the hardware ASAP.

Hi all,
David Zinman contacted me with an urgent request. Apparently Mathieu's TC2 is playing up and he has an urgent need for it. Could we liberate one from the lab while Mathieu returns it, and then deal with either fixing it (if it's the motherboard, I have a spare; if it's the tile, we'll get ARM to swap it out)?
Looking at the TC2 load, it's not so bad that we're going to block on it.
will there be redundancy left in the lab if we take one TC2 out?
No, and that's why I'm sending this out, because I don't want to do this without serious consideration. At present we have four TC2s in the lab, but only two of them are available to LAVA, because the other two are dedicated as hack boxes for Vishal and Naresh on their IKS and MP work. If we do this, then we will only have one online in LAVA.
Thanks
Dave
