Good morning everyone,
I am looking for few guidelines while using device tags in LAVA. The following link on LAVA Documentation's webpage explains how to use tags: https://staging.validation.linaro.org/static/docs/v2/developing-tests.html
*However, once the tags are created, how to assign them to specific devices ?*
I created tags in the scheduler app, but I am not finding any option in the web page of LAVA to assign a specific tag to a specific device.
I saw many devices using tags in LAVA LAB. I hope the engineers who set up those devices can give me advice. If anyone else has some ideas about the trick around setting up those tags, I would appreciate.
regards,

After the device tag is created. Go to the individual device's page, something like https://staging.validation.linaro.org/admin/lava_scheduler_app/device/stagin...
On that page click on "Advanced properties (Show)" (located towards the bottom of the page) which will bring up an extended UI. There is a multi selection box for Tags on that. Select the device tags that you want to assign for that specific device and then "Save" your changes.
See the screenshot here - http://people.linaro.org/~senthil.kumaran/screenshots/device-tags-multi-sele... - which shows the Tags list on the device's admin page.
HTH. Thank You.
Hi Senthil,
*Thank you for your answer. It worked fine.*
Yesterday I already did this :
< After the device tag is created. Go to the individual device's page, something like https://staging.validation.linaro.org/admin/lava_ scheduler_app/device/staging-lxc04/change/
On that page click on "Advanced properties (Show)" (located towards the bottom of the page) which will bring up an extended UI. There is a multi selection box for Tags on that. Select the device tags that you want to assign for that specific device and then "Save" your changes.
I spent time on that page. I was expecting a message or a box indicating that a tag is selected. Apparently, users have to consider that a tag is selected when they left click on it without seeing any message. It is not obvious I think but it does not matter now.
Thank you Senthil

This is an internal aspect of Django, it's just how the Django admin interface is set out.
Tags can also be managed on the lava-server manage command line.
Thank you Senthil

Just to clarify and for the sake of archiving so that people who search for this info (in future) will understand how it exactly works.
The Tag selection is "multi-select" box where you can either select a single tag by clicking on it or select multiple tags by pressing "Ctrl" key and clicking on each individual tag. See an example here - http://people.linaro.org/~senthil.kumaran/screenshots/multiple-tag-selection...
The above selection is not effected until you manually click on the "Save" button and save the changes, which is why I emphasized on "Save" on my previous email.
Thank You.
