Good! It sounds like you're starting to develop opinions on the matter. Please weave these into some analysis of the issue and put this in your v2 patch. To be clear, the thing I care about is that this won't make the behavior worse for any kernels. If you feel like you've got that covered, say why in your patch, and then it's fine by me.
