[PATCH v2] mtd: tests: Replace timeval with ktime_t

Changes the 32-bit time type timeval to the 64-bit time type ktime_t, since 32-bit systems using struct timeval will break in the year 2038. Correspondingly change do_gettimeofday() to ktime_get() since ktime_get returns a ktime_t, but do_gettimeofday returns a struct timeval.Here, ktime_get() is used instead of ktime_get_real() since ktime_get() uses monotonic clock. Most of them are not: if a driver wants to know how much time has passed between two events, and it gets a negative answer, things can go wrong. An example for a driver that does not care about time going backwards is one that just prints the current time in a printk() statement and does not compare it to another time value. There are also examples where you have to use 'real' time, in particular when the time value is passed through an external interface with a known format (e.g. to user processes, on the network, or stored on disk). Here, changing the code to monotonic time causes problems for the code on the other end of that interface. Arnd

[PATCH] hp_sdc_rtc: fixed y2038 problem in proc_show

proc_show only output string, so we can keep userspace untouched while replacing timeval with timespec64 in kernel. Not all timer in i8042 have y2038 risk(handshake, match timer, etc), Replacements in those timer are just for consistency. [PATCH] staging: ft1000: replace timeval with ktime_t

Replace use of struct timeval with ktime_t to calculate connection duration. This avoids y2038 issues. Use ktime_get monotonic clock instead of gettimeofday realtime clock to guard against negative durations. Fix pr_debug to use matching %ul instead of converting value to int, so that debug does not provide misleading information. Fix connection time conversion to use interface type unsigned long instead of assuming it maps to u32.
