Hello!
I have some questions regarding upcoming Linaro event.
Can anyone explain goals of upcoming summit (19-23 July)? Wiki page[1] contains no goals ATM.
thank for raising this. The word "summit" is indeed a bit unfortunate as it is preoccupied by other events that run quite a different format than what we plan to do in July in Prague. I raised this and we will think about renaming it in future to avoid such confusion. ATM, the word "workshop" was proposed as that seems to better match properties of this event:
* an action oriented event that enables those working on the linaro release goals to meet, discuss and hack face to face with their peers.
* the work done during this event is focussed on the blueprints [1] we agreed on as part of our release planning. The discussion and definition of those blueprints happened during UDS this cycle (we co-hosted our summit at UDS).
* In other words, one of the main objectives for this event is to work on getting our agreed work item list down considerably and to remove roadblocks that are easier to fix when working face to face.
* To keep such a workshop event productive it is an invite-only; in general we invite (and probably also sponsor if needed) contributors and linaro members that own a good share of work items for our release goals.
* however, it's nothing particular private or secret; we will publish the results (mostly code) from this event and might think about sending out a wrap up summary.
Hope that answered your question.
