Eh, there is no closed door, just the usual slowness in learning how to work with device tree from newcomers; discussions should happen on the devicetree-discuss and the linux-arm-kernel mailing-lists. For example, you can see Shaju Abraham working on DT support for Samsung boards posting with his @linaro.org address on the devicetree-discuss list :-)
