Is that really true. Isn't it supposed to be backwards compatible ?
The perf.data format is designed with some compatibility in mind, so 3.0.8_android should read any recent enough (say, from perf >= 3.0) perf.data at least. But if perf can't record anything due to a wrong kernel version, it's almost useless.
