Hi Gang,
In the past few days I've received a few requests to allow community members access to our Mumble server.
I don't feel comfortable adding in the large and open linaro-community team so I am considering making a linaro-community-mumble team to allow for access. Right now you have to be in ~linaro to have access to Mumble.
1) I'd like to hear your comments on this, especially if you have alternative suggestions.
2) If there are community members who should have mumble access, can you please send me their Launchpad IDs so I can start assembling a list.
Thanks,
Joey
Joey,
I think this is great! We have a combination need for this:
1) Upstream project interaction where phone-type interaction is desirable. 2) The working group meeting where representatives from member companies who are not Linaro assignees want to participate (for replacing the old conference line).
I can send you a short list of launchpad IDs for these two categories.
cheers, Jesse

As long as we can a private space for the LTs, I think it is a great idea.

It looks as though mumble may support password-protecting channels, which may be a good idea for LTs anyway?
I don't think it uses encryption or anything though, and I don't know if there's a greater risk from having attackers able to access the mumble server if you are using this.
It's certianly something to look in to if you aren't happy with leaving the LT channels unprotected.
Thanks,
James
I think its cool. It would be a big help.
