Hi,
Its that time again, today is Linaro image testing day. If you have
supported hardware and are willing to test the images, please make your
way to:
http://wiki.linaro.org/Releases/DailyBuilds
for an explanation on how to test and submit your results to the QA
tracker at:
http://qatracker.linaro.org
This week we have completely removed all hardware specific pieces from
the images at http://snapshots.linaro.org meaning that you will *need*
to combine your chosen 'flavor' (headless, ALIP, netbook, plasma) with
a hardware pack for you board.
Thanks to your help last week we identified several bugs which have now
been fixed and the images are getting closer to release standard. October
31st is our Release Candidate followed 10 days later by Final Release so
ironing out the last remaining bugs is essential.
Regards,
Jamie.
Since I personally have not been able to locate this information anywhere,
I have created a wiki page to log the testing and experimentation I have
been doing with sound. Please ignore if this is duplicate information.
Currently info only for Headless and ALIP linaro images, but I plan on
adding netbook. Any additional pointers would be greatly appreciated.

=== Action Items ===
* Matt and Scott to discuss state of Vexpress MMC and then discuss
issues with ARM
* Loic to send a request for linaro-media-create rewrite to the
infrastructure team.
* Torez, IGEP display fix needs to be tested on a beagle-board
(make sure there are no regression failures)
* Torez to test powervr fixes on IGEP and Beagle - if they work
they can be added to the hardware packs
* Matt to contact ARM about ARM boot monitor deploy questions
=== Action Items from Previous Meeting ===
* Torez
* Bad LCD on IGEPv2 - Patch posted - will investigate and try soon
lp: 607250
* Tested patches - they fix the problem - waiting for patches to
work through system
* Matt
* try to install busybox file system and see if that helps get to
shell prompt faster
* This filesystem doesn't actually exist yet, but initramfs is
probably enough for this test
* However a busybox only rootfs could be used as a test image during
initial board bring-up
* Check with Steve Langasek to see if this is on the radar. The
headless is < 100M
* Specs for flash support maybe in the next cycle
* Try to point to /bin/sh instead of init
* didn't help
* Try install root FS onto USB stack instead of mmc. See if any of
those help with speed of boot.
* This helps
=== Minutes ===
* Vexpress -
* bug LP: 632798 - MMC slowness bug
* Try loading a file from the ARM boot monitor to see how long it
takes to load from MMC versus flash
* Add feature of linaro-media-create to deploy to USB for vexpress
* Proposed that linaro-media-create be re-written in the infrastructure team
* USB creator may be used as a deploy mechanism
* Loic to send a request for this work to be done
* OMAP3
* IGEP display fix needs to be tested on the beagle-board to make
sure it doesn't break
* Hardware pack installation for omap3 tested and works - needs
lucid (not karmic)
* IGEP wifi setup will be better once the display patch is installed
* no other action required - no other instructions will be included
* STX drivers
* Torez worked with Nicolas Deshcne to get access to the binary drivers
and kernel modules
* Ricardo Salveti did some of this work for OMAP3
* Test on IGEP and Beagle - if they work they can be added to the
hardware packs
* Start keeping record of Vexpress issues in a wiki
