On 06/30/12 02:23, the mail apparently from David Cullen included:
Hello, linaro-dev,
When I boot the Ubuntu desktop image available from
http://releases.linaro.org/12.06/ubuntu/leb-panda/lt-panda-x11-base_20120626-139-ubuntu-desktop.img.bz2
all I see is a black screen and the mouse pointer.
I see some messages on the console like
[ 13.996887] (stk) : timed out waiting for ldisc to be un-installed [ 15.145019] (stk) :ldisc installation timeout
These are from bluetooth, it's fixed on tilt-3.4 since three days ago. They don't mean anything except BT is broken.
and
[ 22.983459] omap-hdmi-audio-dai omap-hdmi-audio-dai: audio not supported [ 22.990631] omap-hdmi-audio-dai omap-hdmi-audio-dai: can't open interface omap-hdmi-audio-dai: -19
These are just telling that your HDMI link is not using a resolution that supports playing audio down it, and the desktop was trying to do that.
My PandaBoard is connected to a Dell monitor with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. Is this a problem?
I don't think so. It's probably something to do with the current SGX (video accelerator) stuff in Ubuntu. Next week TI are providing a big update around SGX1.9 and other new features I guess that will impact it.
