Is there any sensible comparison document for gcc vs rvct in terms of speed, code size, feature set? Is there any reason / use case to recommend rvct over gcc for non-Linux s/w?

Hi Nicolas. I'd recommend talking with ARM about that. Have a think about the qualities you're looking for in a compiler such as: * Speed and size of generated code * Support for the architecture you're interested in * Integration with other tools * Level of support needed * Cost in dollars and effort * Licensing and long term availability
My feeling is that our speed is great, size is OK, architecture support is great, integration is great, support is good, cost is good, and licensing is excellent.
We haven't gotten around to benchmarking RVCT. In the toolchain team we look for 'headroom' which is where there's a big benchmark difference between current GCC and other compilers. We've still got a ton of work to do from looking at past and alternative versions of GCC so we haven't looked further afield.
