Booting problem on Panda board

Hi, I've been trying to boot Linaro on Panda board following the instructions given in https://wiki.linaro.org/Boards/Panda. I've used linaro-natty-headless-tar-20110216-0.tar.gz and hwpack_linaro-panda_20110217-0_armel_supported.tar.gz. After writing the image successfully on an SD card I tried booting the board from it and got a kernel panic: http://paste.ubuntu.com/569954 Please let me know how to get out of this problem. The linaro-2.6.38 kernel is now open

As the next Linaro release (11.05) will include the 2.6.38 kernel, it was decided that the linaro-2.6.38 branch would open early i.e. before the final 2.6.38 kernel is released. So there it is. All the extra patches that were available in linaro-2.6.37 should be included in linaro-2.6.38 at this point. Some notable exceptions at the moment are some Thumb2 support patches, and some ARMv6k compatibility patches. I expect to get a fresh set from Dave Martin soon for the former, and I'll eventually merge RMK's devel branch which would bring in the later. But as you should know already, the feature freeze is due this Thursday February 24th. So now is the time to consider the linaro-2.6.38 tree, put on top all the patches you want to see in the upcoming Linaro release, and ask me to merge them in. If you need some subsystem tree such as MMC to be included as well then now is the time to say so as well. Nicolas

I've been using the sendemail.cc config as well, but unfortunately it is not used by stgit. If you use stgit to send patches you'll have to copy /usr/share/stgit/templates/patchmail.tmpl to ~/.stgit and add a 'CC: patches(a)linaro.org' line to it. I guess we should add these two tips to one of the pages under <https://wiki.linaro.org/Mentoring/Git/>. Any suggestions? linaro-omap kernel 1003.6 boot failure

Hi, To perform some systemtap checking, I needed kernel package with debug symbols, which is available in 1003.6 version from http://ddebs.ubuntu.com/pool/universe/l/linux-linaro-omap/ So I did some apt-get update, install linux-image-2.6.37-1003-linaro-omap followed by flash-kernel 2.6.37-1003-linaro-omap. Kernel fixes for HW watchpoint support

Hi Nicolas, hi John, during tests of hardware watchpoint support for GDB I run into a couple of Linux kernel issues: - On (some versions of?) Versatile Express SMP Cortex-A9 SMP boards, a CPU errata (#720789) causes TLB flushes to sometime fail, which can lead to random problems when running GDB in SMP mode (and probably elsewhere). There is a kernel work-around for this problem activated by CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_720789, but this is unfortuantely not active on the Linaro kernels. (On OMAP4, this happens automatically due to an entry in mach-omap2/Kconfig. There is no such entry in mach-vexpress/Kconfig currently.) - On machines that do not support watchpoints (e.g. IGEP with current kernels), this fact is not reported properly to user space. Will Deacon posted a patch to fix this: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2011-February/041492.… Can we get fixes for these issues included in the Linaro kernel (git tree and/or packages ... not sure where the best place would be)?
